Fighting Alone Together: Fight Master Magazine and Born with Teeth!
I had written an article about lessons from zoom theatre and digital stage combat work during the pandemic. It was supposed to be in the Fight Master magazine earlier, but it was put on pause until the magazine returned... which it did this summer! And my article was picked back up.... How exciting!!! I had to revamp it quite a lot. The digital world changes quickly and things that were still being discovered in 2020 were old hat. It was good to take some time and reflect upo

As You Like It with SF Shakes Shakespeare on Tour
A second year directing Shakespeare on Tour! And this time with the show that brought me to SF Shakes in 2015, As You Like It. I had the immense joy of playing Rosalind and Amiens in the 2015 tour of As You Like It. It was my first show with San Francisco Shakespeare Festival. I was over the moon to play such an iconic character with such a renowned company... and now here I am, almost a decade later, as a resident artist getting to direct the same show for the same tour. Hun

Mime Combat at the Lonestar Smash
The Lonestar Smash has always been my favorite regional stage combat workshop. Perhaps it's because it was the first one I felt where I felt like I fit in? Or maybe it was the first one I went to that was a little smaller and a little more community oriented. Whatever it was, I was overjoyed to be back! And this time as an associate instructor debuting a new workshop class I engineered called "Combat Mime" (nothing in relation to the book). I've been dreaming up this class fo

On Clover Road with Santa Fe Playhouse
I had no idea when I first read this script, that this would end up being one of the shows I'm most proud of my work in. It was my first time working with Santa Fe Playhouse and all of these incredible people, but I was truly moved by the inclusive and creative rehearsal space that director Antonio Minono and intimacy director Zoe Burke fostered. This cast and crew worked with each other so diligently and respectfully, navigating boundaries with ease and joy so that our final

The Hippest Trip
I am definitely not cool enough to be involved with this show, but here we are! Just a small movement director part when honestly these actors are incredible movers led by an absolutely jaw dropping choreographer and director... but I will happily accept! I am so grateful to be in the room with so many all stars. I have the pleasure of choreographing a singular moment, but I won't tell you too much as I don't want to give away such a climatic moment. Don't miss this show as

Fights for Cymbeline!
A 80's fantasy inspired Cymbeline?! Yes please! What a fitting style for such a wild show. I have a soft spot for this show after having read it and done some Imogen monologues in high school. So, it was an absolute joy to get to do fight direction for San Francisco Shakespeare Festival's annual Shakespeare in the Park! Directed by Maryssa Wanlass Assistant Directed by Vanessa Dalpiaz Costumes by Maggie McGrann Technical Director and photos by Neal Ormond Iachimo/Cloten - Nat

Beatrice and Dogberry! Much Ado About Nothing
Beatrice AND Dogberry!!! Dare I dream!?! Beatrice has long been a dream role of mine, but to play her while also playing the clown... I am in heaven! Surrounded by an incredible team of seasoned and skilled performers, my heart is full performing this joyous comedy. Playing Beatrice at this time in my life felt right. She's a little older than the typical Shakespearean lover, I don't think I was ready to have played her with the nuance required before now. Her convictions run
