Rehearsals have begun for Midsummer Night's Dream at Davis Shakespeare Ensemble and I couldn't be more excited! This is my favorite play. It was my first play. When I was in 4th Grade I had the pleasure of playing Hermia... the only time in my life I'll ever get to play that part! As a fourth grader I didn't know what I was getting myself into. One - I had wanted to be a fairy so badly that I cried when I wasn't cast. Two - I had no idea that I was about to embark on a journey that would end up shaping the rest of my life. Now, I've been waiting 19 years to play Helena and I've finally gotten the opportunity! The read through was incredibly fun. I cannot wait to get physical with it. It's going to require a lot of stamina. My fellow lovers seem up to the task! I'm thrilled to be surrounded by such a talented and fun cast.
Our version of Midsummer is in dedication to Davis' Centennial so it's set in present day with lots of local flavor that even if you are unfamiliar with the town you'll enjoy.
